Basic bookkeeping is available for sole proprietors with straightforward requirements. Services are performed by, or under the review of, a registered tax practitioner.
2. Your responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate, complete and timely information and documents. You remain responsible for the accuracy of the information you supply. We rely on that information to prepare your returns and cannot be held responsible for outcomes arising from information that is incorrect, incomplete or withheld.
3. Engagement and fees
The scope of work and applicable fees will be confirmed with you before work commences. Fees are payable as agreed. Where the scope changes, we will discuss any change in fees with you before proceeding.
4. Cancellation and refunds
Where you engage TaxAtomy for services concluded electronically, you may cancel within 5 (five) business days of concluding the agreement, provided work has not already commenced or been delivered, in line with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act. Fees for work already performed up to the point of cancellation remain payable. To cancel, contact us at info@taxatomy.com.
5. Professional standards
We act in accordance with the standards applicable to registered tax practitioners and with relevant South African law, including the Tax Administration Act and the Financial Intelligence Centre Act. As an accountable institution, we are required to verify client identity (FICA/KYC) before providing certain services.
6. Limitation of liability
We take reasonable care in performing our services. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the fees paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under South African law.
